Following our previous post, ”The shapes of toilet seats. Did you think a toilet seat was only oval? Have a look at the Sintesibagno catalogue (part 1)” which challenged the idea that a toilet seat is simply oval, we continue to explore the vast range of designs available in the Sintesibagno catalogue.

Today we will look at other shapes all clearly present in the toilet cover catalogue of Sintesibagno.shop
NEW SHAPES Part 2:

ELONGATED OVAL: Introduced by LINDA (Ideal Standard), this shape features an oval front connected by parallel straight lines to an oval back. Other examples include LINEA by Pozzi Ginori, TUSCIA by Ceramica Senesi, M2 50 by Galassia and C 52 Light by Ceramica Catalano.

UNIQUE-PRIMARY SHAPES (Non-Geometric): These are one-of-a-kind, artistic shapes that defy geometric categorization. Iconic models include MUSE by Catalano, but we also saw FIORILE by Ideal Standard and MEMORY by Hidra.

TEARDROP Shape: Narrow at the back and widening toward the user. Popular series include LIUTO by Ideal Standard, ARETUSINA by Cesame, CLIO by Eos Ceramiche, TANGA by Ceramica Scala, GEMMA by Ceramiche Scala, AFFETTO and GRACE by Ceramica Globo.

FIGURE-EIGHT (8) and VIOLIN Shapes: Often used to interpret the classic/retro style in bathroom design, with ANTALIA (Dolomite) being the most iconic example, alongside RETRO’ (KERASAN).

D-SHAPE: A relatively new and increasingly popular modern design, flat at the back with a curved front. Famous for its fit with back-to-wall WCs, symbolized by CLODIA (Dolomite), Sfera (sistema C) series Ceramica Catalano, Open Space concept series Ceramica Globo, Fast by Pozzi Ginori (Geberit) and certainly LINK by Ceramica Flaminia.

CURVILINEAR CONTOURED Shape: The most “feminine” design, characterized by soft, sinuous curves. Represented by ELLADE (Hidra), two by Eos Ceramiche BOHEME and PANTHEON, and also a series by Althea called ROYAL.

IRREGULAR GEOMETRIC Shapes: Custom shapes created by ceramic designers, not falling into standard categories. Examples are OCEANO (Althea) and SA02 (Galassia).

TRIANGULAR Shape: These WCs and seats taper to a narrow point at the front (though still curved for comfort). Key models include POLIS (Catalano), FENICE (Cesame), NOVELLA, DHALIA and the more recent SWEET LIFE. Also worth mentioning is a series by Simas called LFT Spazio.
Given the vast number of specific toilet seat shapes, purchasing a generic “universal” seat from a big-box store is likely to result in a poor fit, impacting both aesthetics and durability.
Our Recommendation: If you don’t know the make/model of your WC, use the Sintesibagno identification service. Send an email to info@sintesibagno.it or a WhatsApp message to +39 3341288978 with two photos of your toilet and a few measurements, and we will help you find the perfect match.
