The Ideal Standard Linda series is a primary form. Its toilet seat is shaped by two parallel straight lines and two semicircles.

We’ve already talked about the amazing Linda series of sanitary ware by Ideal Standard in previous posts, including:

Designed by Achille Castiglioni, this series was extremely popular in the ’80s and ’90s. Its pure geometric shapes—a sphere on top and a rectangular prism below—made it truly unique. We consider it a foundational shape in bathroom design because this form first appeared with the Linda series. Before that, bathroom fixtures were oval, square, rectangular, or elliptical. Now, there’s the Linda shape. The top part is an elongated oval (two semicircles connected by two parallel straight lines). Because our team at Sintesibagno has always loved it, we dedicated a video to it.

All Linda toilet seats, in all colors (European White, Ideal Standard White, Champagne, Blueberry, Midnight Blue, Mink, Whispering Green, Whispering Pink), and even in new thermoset plastic materials (including soft-close with slow-motion hinges), are available in the Sintesibagno store at the following link [ clik HERE ].

Today, we’re going to look at some of its competitors from rival ceramic manufacturers.

Pozzi Ginori – LINEA Series

While Linda’s design strength lies in the contrast between two geometric figures (sphere and prism), the LINEA series by Pozzi Ginori starts with the same top shape and then plays with “empty and full” spaces in the body of the sanitary ware. This creates a very logical and harmonious design. It was produced in white [ clik HERE ] and in the champagne colour [ clik HERE ]. If you are looking for a toilet seat in a more modern material and perhaps with slow motion hinges you can find it at the following link [ clik HERE ], ALL in the Sintesibagno store.

Ceramica Senesi – TUSCIA Series

We’ve already talked about this Tuscan company in the posts: “Ceramica Senesi. Why is it hard to find this company’s toilet seats?” and “Ceramica Senesi toilet seats for historical series (part 2)”, where we looked at the DUCCIO, PIENZA, DONATELLO, LUTEZIA and PALIO series. Among the many “imitators” of Linda, the TUSCIA series is definitely the one that resembles it the most. The toilet seats for this series are also available in the Sintesibagno store in a new thermoset version at the following link [ clik HERE ].

Galassia – M2 50 Series

We came across this series in the post: ”WCs in the same series, but toilet seats different in length and shape. Is this possible?”, where we saw that the manufacturer even offered it in three different depths: 45, 50, and 55 cm. The version that most closely resembles the Linda shape is the M2 50 cm one shown in the photo. At the Sintesibagno store, we’ve created a section with toilet seats for all three models, complete with measurements to ensure you make the right purchase at the following link [ clik HERE ] and [ clik HERE ]

Ceramica Catalano – C 52 Light Series

This series was part of Catalano’s C system. In the early 2000s, Ceramica Catalano launched this series (rightly called a system) named C. It achieved market success comparable to their ZERO series, which we discussed in the post: “The Catalano Zero toilet seat. How many models are there in this series? Zero 45,50,54,55,62, Light, +”. From this idea, Catalano developed the basis for the new SFERA series. It was presented in four variants of floor-standing toilets and one wall-hung (original codes: VPC52, VPCB52, VSC54, VPC54, MPSC). One of these floor-standing toilets was the C52 Light. While the toilet seat is the same for all four models, the C52 Light variant uses a different one. All toilet seats of this system can be found in the Sintesibagno store at the following link [ clik HERE ]
