n the long history of “Made in Italy” bathroom furnishings, we have explored the countless styles and shapes of sanitary ware developed by master ceramic manufacturers. From the English Retro style ( ”Retro Classical English Style Sanitaryware and their covers (part 1)” )—featuring the figure-8 shapes of Dolomite’s ANTALIA, the violin silhouette of Kerasan’s RETRO’, or the double-curved ELLADE by Hidra—to the timeless rounded elegance of Pozzi Ginori’s MONTEBIANCO and its counterparts like ALBANO (Vitruvit) and LONDRA (Simas). We also analyzed geometric shapes, where rectangular models like CONCA (Ideal Standard), FROZEN (Simas), and METRICA (Pozzi Ginori/Geberit) redefined modern aesthetics.
Today, we go a step further to discover “extraordinary” shapes—those unique designs that defy standard categories.
Cidneo: The CARENA Series

Carena is perhaps the most revolutionary sanitary system ever produced. Emerging from the creative fervor of the 1980s, Ics Cidneo surprised the industry with a bowl where the seat’s anchoring plane is lower than the seat itself! The rear of the toilet features two lateral recesses, creating a visually striking central square block.

- The Seat: This unique structure required a one-of-a-kind thermoset toilet seat. It is the only model where the anchoring system is horizontal, using a patented snap-spring system.
- Compatibility: Needless to say, this toilet seat can only be fitted with the original toilet seat, which you can find in the Sintesibagno store (white and in champagne colour) at the following link [ Clik HERE ]
Pozzi Ginori: The ULTRA Series

In the 1960s, before the massive success of models like Italica, Pozzi Ginori introduced Ultra. It was a “BIG” toilet—the seat measures nearly 50 cm—but its true innovation lay in its ergonomics. The rim is tilted forward for comfort and slanted toward the center for hygiene.

- The Seat: Because of these angles, the seat requires a very narrow mounting centers distance (8 cm), the only flat area available for anchoring.
- Colors: Available in classic vintage tones: White, Champagne, Mink (Visone), Whisky, and Heraldic Blue. All toilet seat covers in the various colours can be found in the Sintesibagno store at the following link [ Clik HERE ]
Dolomite: The ZAGARA Series

Zagara looks more like a piece of modern sculpture than a toilet. Representing the pinnacle of Italian creativity, its design features three straight sides and a rounded front with a subtle notch. The body has sharp 90° angles but a slight forward lean that adds both elegance and ergonomic ease.

- The “3-Piece” Seat: To complement its form, the seat includes a rear cover bar. Note: The standard “3-piece” seat does not fit the monobloc/duo (with ceramic cistern) version; that model requires the specific “2-piece” seat.
