GSI Ceramica: From FACIS’s Unique Heritage to “Italian Made” Design
Today, we’re talking about a company that has established itself over the last two decades as one of the leading design testimonials in the bathroom furniture world: GSI Ceramica. Located in the district of Civita Castellana, the heartland of Italian ceramicists, GSI’s history is one of constant evolution.

The company describes itself on its website (GSICERAMICA.IT) as a leading Italian and international ceramic player, an innovative benchmark for the bathroom furnishing sector. GSI Ceramica’s founders skillfully combined the area’s artisanal tradition with cutting-edge technological innovation, based on a strong work ethic and a value system centered on the human dimension and Italian know-how. This has led to the virtuous cycle of the “Italian Made” creed, resulting in products of a high-quality standard. Since the nineties, under the guidance of a new, young, and prepared management, GSI has intensified its drive for innovation, ensuring its role as a protagonist of quality Italian design for the future.
The FACIS Legacy: Unusual Shapes from the Past
Before becoming GSI, the company was known as FACIS. In the 1960s and ’70s, FACIS produced an incredible range of sanitary fixtures with unusual and particular shapes, all now out of production, along with their toilet seats. We have seen PALACE and GINEVRA in the post: ”Odd and unusual sanitary shapes and their toilet covers (part 2)”, we have seen ADDA in the post: ”The CONCA toilet bowl and toilet seat and its ‘brothers’.” and in the post: ”Sanitaryware old models out of production with rectangular toilet seat. You’re in for a treat!” read more HERE, we have seen OMEGA in the post: ”BIG sanitaryware, WCs and bidets in large sizes, modern lines and their WC covers (part 2)”.
