Toilets with Extra-Wide Toilet Seats
In previous posts, we’ve explored some of the unique characteristics of toilets. We’ve seen that some toilets are very long and large, requiring toilet seats with lengths of 50, 51, or 52 cm. We’ve also looked at very short and small toilets that need compact toilet seats under 40 cm (39, 38, 37 cm), and even tiny ones designed for children and nurseries. We’ve also covered toilets that are narrow in width, needing seats only 33 or 34 cm wide.
Today, we’re focusing on the opposite end of the spectrum: toilets that are very wide. The standard “normal” width is typically 35 to 36 cm. While many toilets are 37 cm wide, this is already considered non-standard. In this article, we’ll look at toilets and toilet seats with widths of 38, 39, and even 40-42 cm.
Starck 1 series Duravit
This toilet falls into the category of round fixtures we’ve discussed previously. It’s similar in shape to the ARKE’ series by Galassia, but the Starck 1 is a very wide 42 cm. As Duravit‘s catalog notes, with this series, Philippe Starck and Duravit went back to the origins of hygiene and wellness. The line reinterprets historical washroom ancestors—the bucket, tub, and basin—giving them a modern, circular twist. AMICA series Ceramica Globo
The AMICA series by Ceramica Globo is a line from the 1980s with truly significant dimensions. It’s not only very long (its toilet seat measures 49-50 cm in length), but also incredibly wide at 39 cm. Only a dedicated toilet seat, specifically designed for this model, can be installed on it. BONSAI (Wall-Hung Toilet) series Ceramica Globo
From the same brand (Globo), the BONSAI series is on the opposite side of the dimensional scale. While the AMICA was huge, the BONSAI is very small. However, it’s surprisingly wide at 38.5 to 39 cm. You can find it the Sintesibagno store at the following link [ clik HERE ].
Sculture and Sculture 2 series Hatria Ceramiche
We covered this series in a previous post about large toilets. The original Sculture toilet seat is very long and also very wide, measuring 38.5 cm. The newer version, Sculture 2, is shorter in length but even wider, reaching 39.5 to 40 cm. The toilet seats for these two “sisters” are different. ASSOLUTO series Faleri
