Here’s the information about replacing an 80s/90s toilet seat, first in English and then in French:
Replacing an 80s/90s Toilet Seat
The 1980s and 1990s were a golden age for the bathroom furnishing market. This period saw huge sales numbers and extensive new construction. During these decades, several sanitary ware series became established, many of which are still found in countless bathrooms today. The sales figures were astonishing for the Italian market. Every ceramic company offered a “standard” series, so named because architects and designers of large buildings at the time would include their names in the technical specifications of their projects. We find names here that have become common even to those outside the sector: Ideal Standard’s Tesi series, Cesame’s Sintesi series, Dolomite’s Clodia series, Catalano’s Luce series, and Pozzi Ginori’s Fantasia series.
Ideal Standard Tesi Series

We believe this Ideal Standard sanitary fixture (perhaps with the exception of Conca) was the best-selling sanitary ware of all time: Tesi. We’ve already discussed it in the post ” Ideal Standard WC and toilet seats old models (part 1).” It’s found in countless bathrooms in our homes. In the 80s and 90s, there wasn’t a major construction site that didn’t include it in its specifications. Its success was certainly due to its very original shape. Its designers started from a rectangular shape and softened the corners with full, soft curves. A comfortable shape to look at and use. All toilet seats for Tesi sanitary ware are available in the store, including the Ideal Standard white color and colored versions like champagne, mink, whispered blue, deep blue, whispered gray, at the following Sintesibagno link [clik HERE ].
Cesame Sintesi Series

This is the sanitary ware series with which Cesame challenged the major companies in the sector (we suggest this link [ clik HERE ] for more information on the subject): Sintesi (even the name was a clear reference to Tesi, editor’s note). Its recognizable inclined upper surface led us to write a post about it: “Sanitaryware with a sloping surface and their toilet seats with shaped bumpers.” We’ve seen that there’s always a beginning to the peculiarities of things. Sintesi can be defined as the first product made with this characteristic, or the first to achieve such success that it was identified as an example of its category. With this sanitary ware, the Sicilian company managed to gain market shares worthy of the major manufacturers of the time: Ideal Standard and Dolomite. This series of sanitary ware was produced not only in white but also in various colors, the main ones certainly being: amber/champagne, mink/bahama, and the legendary deer (for more on Cesame colors, we recommend this article [ clik HERE ] ). All original toilet seats and dedicated versions can be found in the Sintesibagno store at the following link [ clik HERE ].
Dolomite Clodia Series

With this series designed by Antonio Bullo, Ceramica Dolomite challenged the successful series of the period: Cesame’s Sintesi series and Ideal Standard’s Tesi series. The particularity of Clodia is the upper surface with a step. We discussed this in a post where we explain the importance of a toilet seat with stepped/shaped bumper pads [ clik HERE ]. We also made a video to show you the Clodia toilet and its toilet seat clearly (the original seat can be found in the store at the following Sintesibagno link [ clik HERE ] ).
Catalano Ceramica Luce Series

In our opinion, the series with which Ceramica Catalano established itself with the general public was this one, called Luce. A simple and soft shape. Dimensionally centered. Both toilet seats are available in the Sintesibagno store: the thermosetting version with a wrap-around lid [ clik HERE ] , and the wood version covered in white polyester [ clik HERE ]. We also dedicated a video to the Catalano Luce toilet seat:
Pozzi Ginori Fantasia Series

A few years ago, the company introduced a new version of this sanitary fixture, revolutionizing its shape and bringing it into the category of squared shapes. The first version of Fantasia, which you see here in the photo, was very rounded, and a much-appreciated formal characteristic was the slight forward tilt given by the foot and body of the sanitary ware. Its most sought-after toilet seat in the thermosetting version can be found in the store at the following Sintesibagno link [ clik HERE ].
