Ideal Standard Toilet Seats: A Comprehensive Guide
We’ve explored several historic Ideal Standard toilet series, starting with Conca. We delved into its features, compared it to similar models, examined its angled bumpers, discussed available colors, and looked at its raised back design.
Beyond Conca, we’ve covered other significant Ideal Standard series:
- Tesi: Highlighted as a best-seller from the 1980s. We looked at it in the post “Sanitary wares years ‘80 e ‘90. Finding the toilet seats”
- Diagonal, Liuto, and Linda: Older models discussed in a dedicated post ”WC seat and sanitary ware Ideal Standard old models (part 1)”.
- Ellisse, Ondine, and XL: Featured in a section on narrow toilets. In the post ”Narrow WCs and bidets. Measures less the 35 cm inn width What are the toilet seat covers for these sanitary ware?”
- Small: Categorized under compact toilet models. In the post ”WC seat sizes | small size for small sanitary ware”
It’s important to note that most Ideal Standard ceramics were produced in two versions of white: Ideal Standard White and EU White, with distinct differences between them. At this link [ clik HERE ] we explain the differences.
The world of Ideal Standard extends much further, with many other successful series, including:
Calla Ideal Standard Series

A classic luxury series, Calla is an excellent choice for a classical bathroom. Its unique original toilet seat, with a special hinge and rear tube, enhances the design. While the original is costly, perfect alternative versions and even the original hinge are available in the Sintesibagno store at the following link [ clik HERE ]
Nemea Ideal Standard Series

Nemea showcases an innovative design with a body that narrows at the base and widens upwards, featuring pronounced straight lines and geometric patterns rather than soft curves. Despite being out of production, its highly distinctive design makes it a top choice, and its original toilet seat is still available in the Sintesibagno store at the following link [ clik HERE ]
Cantica Ideal Standard Series

Introduced in the 2000s, Cantica features a rectangular toilet with a unique elliptical inner design, available in both floor-standing and wall-hung versions. While the original plastic wrap-around seat is not sold due to durability concerns, a highly-rated dedicated alternative is available. Here the video about the Cantica toilet seat cover:

Tonic Ideal Standard Toilet

Tonic represents a classic modern toilet shape, offered in wall-hung and back-to-wall floor-standing versions. We recommend a D-shaped toilet seat for this model, as it perfectly follows the straight back and 90-degree angles of the toilet, unlike the original oval seat. The perfect one in our opinion can be seen at the following Sintesibagno link [ clik HERE ]. When you look at it, you’ll notice how its shape perfectly follows the upper profile of the toilet bowl itself. A version with slow-motion hinges is also available at the following Sintesibagno link [ clik HERE ]
Tonda Ideal Standard Series

Tonda introduced a completely new toilet shape, starting from an oval and then recessing two sides to create an almost triangular, yet still curved, form. You can find it at the following Sintesibagno link [ clik HERE ] both in the White EU version and in the white Ideal Standard version (here we explain the difference between the two Whites)
