Ceramica Senesi: A Legacy in Sanitaryware
Ceramica Senesi was a ceramic company located in the Val D’Orcia region, an area renowned for ceramic production. At its peak, the company employed 150 people and specialized in sanitaryware, achieving significant market success with several of its product lines.
A few years ago, Ceramica Senesi was acquired by Ceramica Dolomite, which in turn became part of the Ideal Standard group. Today, no products are manufactured under the Senesi brand, making it challenging to find compatible toilet seats for their sanitaryware. However, the Sintesibagno store offers dedicated, perfect-fit products for even older models from this Tuscan ceramic manufacturer.
Several important Ceramica Senesi series have been featured in previous posts:
DUCCIO: A flagship series discussed in “Sanitaryware with a raised top. WC seats with 45° fixing hinges (part 1)” e “The CONCA toilet bowl and toilet seats and “its brothers”
DONATELLO: Explored in “Narrow WCs and bidets. Toilet seats are narrow and hard to be found. Let’s discover the older/weider series (part 2)“.
LUTEZIA: A retro/antique series featured in ”And then comes Montebianco” Sanitariware classic/antique and their toilet seats (part 2)”.
Key Ceramica Senesi Series
PIENZA Series

Launched in the 1980s, the PIENZA series was a typical “specification” (contract) line for its time. It competed with bathroom furnishing legends like all top sellers: CLODIA by Dolomite, METRO by Flaminia, SINTESI by Cesame, TESI by Ideal Standard e LUCE by Catalano. Despite fierce competition, PIENZA carved out its market share and remains common in many Italian homes today. This series featured a rectangular shape with very rounded corners, bearing a strong resemblance to Ideal Standard’s TESI. Dedicated toilet seats for this pan are available in the Sintesibagno store at the following link [ clik HERE ].
PALIO Series

The PALIO series was simpler and less imposing in form than PIENZA. Often recommended for secondary bathrooms due to its smaller size, its simplicity nonetheless gave it a distinctive character. A notable aesthetic detail, visible when viewed from above, is the almost triangular shape of the toilet’s upper surface. This feature is particularly evident when looking at the toilet seats designed for this sanitaryware, available at the Sintesibagno store at the following link [ clik HERE ]
TUSCIA Series

The TUSCIA series strongly resembles the legendary LINDA by Ideal Standard, which was discussed in ”Toilet seats and sanitaryware by Ideal Standard old models (part 1)”. It’s unclear which series was introduced first. The WC seats for this series are also available in the new thermoset version at the following Sintesibagno link [ clik HERE ]
