Dolomite Toilet Seats: A Comprehensive Guide

Many customers need to replace their Dolomite toilet seats. This guide explores the most popular and well-regarded series from this ceramic manufacturer, which became a top player in the bathroom furnishing sector during the 1980s and 1990s. Dolomite’s sanitaryware encompasses a wide range of shapes and sizes.

Clodia Dolomite Series: The Signature Step Design

Designed by Antonio Bullo, the Clodia series was Dolomite’s response to successful ranges like Cesame’s Sintesi and Ideal Standard’s Tesi. A unique feature of Clodia is its stepped top surface, which requires a toilet seat with specific shaped or stepped bumpers for stability [ clik HERE ]. We’ve previously highlighted the importance of these specialized bumpers, and you can see the Clodia toilet and its original toilet seat in detail in our video and find it in our store. We also made a video to show you the Clodia toilet and its seat cover (the original seat can be found in the store at the following link [ clik HERE ]).

Rio and Fleo: Dolomite’s Take on Rectangular Forms

Rio, a mid-to-high-end series designed by architect Giorgina Castiglioni, marked Dolomite’s successful entry into the rectangular sanitaryware (rectangular shape) market, competing with models like Conca. Its distinctive squared shape with broad, curved angles set a trend in the industry. Rio was produced in white, champagne, gray, and green, with all corresponding toilet seats available in Sintesibagno store [ clik HERE ].

For those seeking a smaller, more minimalist rectangular option from Dolomite, Fleo was the answer. Its essential and compact design was highly appreciated and inspired many subsequent ceramic series. The original Fleo toilet seat, available in both white and black, can be found in Sintesibagno store [ clik HERE ].

Ebla Ceramica Dolomite: Pure Rectangular Style

While many Dolomite rectangular sanitaryware designs feature rounded corners, the Ebla series introduced a purer rectangular style. Its top surface boasts nearly 90-degree angles, and the body itself features sharply defined geometric cuts, offering a truly squared aesthetic. Replacement parts for the Ebla model are readily available in our Dolomite section. Here are the links to the Dolomite section in Sintesibagno shop where you can easily find spare parts for the Ebla model! [ clik HERE ]

Slim Dolomite Series: Perla Old and Sweet Life

Starting in the 1980s, driven by design needs for smaller bathrooms and a shift towards minimalist aesthetics, sanitaryware began to narrow, with widths of 36, 35, and even 34 cm becoming common. Dolomite responded with two distinct series: Perla and, later, Sweet Life.

Perla, often considered the main competitor to Ellisse in the 80s and 90s, is now referred to as Perla Classic or Old (to distinguish it from the newer Perla New). With a width of 34.4/34.5 cm, it’s notably slimmer than its counterpart, differing mainly in its thinner top surface. The original Perla toilet seat, while identical in shape to Ellisse, features unique front bumpers and is available in our store. The original toilet seat, which is identical in shape to the Ellisse, differs in the front bumpers. If you are looking for the old original product you can find it in the Sintesibagno store at the following link [ clik HERE ]

The Sweet Life series, launched in the late 90s, presented a modern, almost triangular design with a width of 34/35 cm. Despite some visible fixing systems in its wall-hung version, its contemporary style could easily compete with modern sanitaryware. While the original thermosetting Sweet Life toilet seat is no longer produced, a white coated wooden alternative is available in Sintesibagno store at the following link [ clik HERE ]

Epoca Dolomite Series: The Pioneer of the Inclined Surface

Modello Epoca, il primo copriwater per un vaso con piano inclinato

Contrary to popular belief that Ideal Standard’s Conca introduced the inclined rear surface in sanitaryware, it was actually Dolomite’s Epoca series, launched in the 1960s and 70s, that pioneered this stylistic feature. This successful series’ toilet seat is also available in Sintesibagno store [ clik HERE ] .

Antalia: Dolomite’s Classic/Retro “Perfect 8” Shape

The Antalia series by Dolomite is a true icon of classic/retro bathroom style, embodying the charm of a bygone era. Legendary in the 90s and only recently out of production, its unmistakable “figure-eight” shape remains a symbol of timeless elegance. Available in both close-coupled and wall-hung versions, its original, distinctively shaped toilet seat can be purchased in Sintesibagno store [ clik HERE ].
