Round Toilet Seats: More Examples and Variations
In this post, we’re continuing our discussion on round sanitary ware. We’ve already looked at some round toilets ( ( Arkè, El1, Wind, You&Me, Starck1) in our previous post: “Round vessels and the almost made-to-measure replacement of round WCseat !“. Now, let’s explore three more lines of sanitary ware that have been highly influential in the “round” category. All of these series were very successful with the public. The first two, Flow Tonda by Simas and Zelig by Dolomite, are now out of production. However, Globo’s Bowl 50 series is still featured in the company’s current catalog.
Simas Flow Tonda Ceramic Series
The Simas Flow project was incredibly diverse and comprehensive. It included not only square sanitary fixtures ( Square Flow ) but also a range of washbasins, some round and some square with asymmetrical tops of various sizes. As quoted from the company’s catalog: “More than a collection, an architectural project for the bathroom. Minimalist yet dynamic in its design lines. Functional in every single piece and in its various combination possibilities…” Both the round and square sanitary fixtures were available in floor-standing and wall-hung versions. You can find their toilet seats (the round one is a generous 40.5/41 cm wide) in Sintesibagno store at the following link [ clik HERE ]
Dolomite Zelig Series
Among round sanitary fixtures, the Zelig is the smallest in width, at only 36 cm (its toilet seat is 35 cm). However, Dolomite’s designers gave it perfectly balanced proportions. It was introduced in wall-hung, floor-standing, and even monobloc (with a ceramic cistern) versions. Launched in the late 1990s and early 2000s, the Dolomite catalog we’re referencing stated: “Clean, round curved shapes, compact dimensions, and modern design characterize Dolomite’s new complete line of sanitary ware: Zelig.” We’ve commissioned a dedicated toilet seat that perfectly replaces the original plastic one, which is now out of stock. You can find it at the Sintesibagno following link [ clik HERE ]
Ceramica Globo Bowl 50 Series
This series is somewhat reminiscent of the Dolomite Zelig, but it’s wider (its toilet seat is 38 cm wide) and shorter (the total toilet length is 50 cm). Still available in Globo‘s catalog, the Bowl series comes in both wall-hung and floor-standing versions. We’ve included some significant passages from the company’s catalog: “A collection inspired by the use of soft and rounded shapes… In particular, the design of the wall-hung sanitary ware represents a minimalist reinterpretation of the classic egg shape..” Its original toilet seat is available in the Sintesibagno store at the following link [clik HERE]
We’ve explored additional series of round sanitary fixtures and their toilet seats. If you haven’t found the right toilet seat for your specific toilet and are unsure which one to buy, please consult Sintesibagno as instructed in our video to avoid mistakes. We’ll help you find the perfect toilet seat.
