Let’s delve into Ideal Standard’s classic sanitaryware models, which were pivotal in establishing the ceramic company as a market leader throughout the 1970s, 80s, and 90s. These ranges profoundly influenced bathroom furnishing trends, often serving as revolutionary templates that were widely imitated or at least inspired countless designs. They’re considered “classic models” because their production began many years ago.
Ideal Standard CONCA Series
CONCA is the legendary sanitaryware – the most imitated, one of the best-selling in bathroom furnishing history, and one of the longest-lasting. It has been produced for decades and remains in the Ideal Standard catalog to this day. We’ve frequently discussed the Conca toilet and its seat in numerous posts due to its unique combination of features. We’ve highlighted its rectangular shape [ clik HERE ], its raised rear platform that necessitates toilet seat hinges with a 45° fixing [ clik HERE ] , and its extensive color palette. It’s one of the few Ideal Standard series produced in every color from the company’s chromatic chart: white, Ideal Standard white, whispered grey, whispered light blue, deep blue, blueberry, whispered green, fern green, cactus green, champagne, mink, cashmere, beaver, walnut, pomegranate, whispered pink, and black. For guidance on understanding and identifying sanitaryware colors, you can find a dedicated post [ clik HERE ]. Naturally, at the Sintesibagno store, you’ll discover all Conca toilet seats in every color, material (including thermosetting wrap-around options), and price range at this link [ clik HERE ]
Ideal Standard TESI Series
You’ll find the Tesi series in countless homes. Throughout the 80s and 90s, no major construction project was complete without it. Its success was undoubtedly due to its highly original form. Its designers started with a rectangular shape and softened the corners with full, gentle curves, resulting in a design that is both aesthetically pleasing and comfortable to use. You can find all Tesi sanitaryware covers in our store, including the Ideal Standard white color (explained in this post) and colored versions such as champagne, mink, whispered light blue, deep blue, and whispered grey. Available in the Sintesibagno store [ clik HERE ]
Ideal Standard Diagonal Series
Among Ideal Standard’s classic toilet seat and sanitaryware models, the Diagonal series was the most luxurious. It was an impressive and substantial range of sanitaryware. We’ve described it thoroughly in our post on large sanitaryware [ clik HERE ], where we noted: “…this sanitaryware and its toilet seat are truly unique pieces, both in their form and for the characteristic single hinge designed and produced exclusively for it…. it’s a truly large toilet, its toilet seat measures a full 50 cm in total.” The Diagonal toilet seat, hinge, and even the original bumper kit are available in the Sintesibagno store at the following link [ clik HERE ].
Ideal Standard LIUTO Series
The LIUTO series is another notable addition to Ideal Standard’s classic models. This was a very distinctive piece of sanitaryware with a unique shape, narrow at the back and widening towards the front. We also discussed it in the post: “Old sanitarywear models no lenger in production. Where can I find the toilet seats? (1st part)” where we mentioned that its primary production occurred between the 80s and 90s and continued into the early 2000s. In this instance, your sanitaryware and its toilet seat will likely be in Ideal Standard white, as explained in the post: “White as white can be! So, why is white different in Ideal Standard sanitarywares?“. If you’re looking for a specific color, we recommend consulting the post: “The colours of sanitarywares and toilet seats: green, pink, light blue, blue, brown…(2nd part ).” Liuto toilet seats (Ideal Standard classic models) are available in the Sintesibagno store [ clik HERE ].
Ideal Standard LINDA Series
From the magical pencil of designer Achille Castiglioni emerged the Linda sanitaryware, which captivated the bathroom market. Linda is one of the most beloved classic Ideal Standard sanitaryware models among bathroom furnishing professionals. Its pure geometric forms—spherical on top, rectangular parallelepiped below—made it a unique piece. Since we, the Sintesibagno team, have always admired it, we’ve dedicated a video to it.
The top part is an oval elongated at the sides. Almost certainly, your sanitaryware and its toilet seat will be in Ideal Standard white, as explained in the post: “White as white can be! So why is white differnt on Ideal Standard sanitaywares?“. In any case, regular white (Eu white) is also available in the Sintesibagno store at the following link [ clik HERE ].
Ideal Standard ELLISSE Series
The ELLISSE series arrived on the market around the late 1970s and early 1980s, remaining in the catalog until the early 2000s. It soared in popularity in new constructions where bathroom space was limited, or in homes where a second bathroom was being added, as its compact dimensions made it easy to place anywhere. Besides the classic Ideal Standard white, it was produced in virtually all colors that Ideal Standard offered in its catalog: champagne, mink, cashmere, blueberry, deep blue, whispered pink, and more. in the Sintesibagno store you can still find toilet seats in the official colours at the following link [ clik HERE ]. Ellisse, among Ideal Standard’s classic models, is perhaps the most recognizable in shape due to its narrow width (only 34/35 cm). We’ve discussed it in a post about narrow sanitaryware [ clik HERE ]
